We are a small friendly group with a core membership of 15. The cost of a yearly membership is £10 which entitles you to attend all events and reduced entry rates on the quiz and our annual treasure hunt. Being a member will provide you with the opportunity to research any local historical interest you have in the Parish of Lemsford allowing access to archives and many years’ experience from fellow members

Over the years we have existed, we have produce many booklets on various subjects in the Parish of Lemsford they include: Jeremy’s walk through Cromer Hyde, Lemsford Village History. Some notes about the village pubs, past and present, St John the Evangelist, Lemsford Memorial Inscriptions, Brocket Hall & Gardens and Lemsford village, Valley Road Corner to Brocket Corner. We have a Parish Historic Map, priced £1.

We have made many friends including our neighbouring history groups Ayot, Welwyn and HJ Brown Memories of Cromer Hyde. We also have associations with St John’s Church Lemsford, Brocket Hall and the Brocket Babies and Lemsford Seniors and fully support the Lemsford Fete with our annual display

The Cochrane Family - A leading Member of our History group Shirley Knapp has researched her family the Cochranes. She has provide images , articles and many wonderful memories
The Wren Family The Wren's - The Wren’s of Lemsford go back to 1851 according our records. The family always flock to our display at the fete and have provided us with images and memories. During our research for WW1 we uncovered the contribution to the war effort.:
